This fresh-smelling essential oil is popular in aromatherapy and is great for creating a more relaxed and happy feeling, relieving urinary tract infections, improving liver, spleen and stomach function while fighting oily skin, acne, psoriasis, eczema and colds.
The oil is one of the most widely used in the perfume and toiletries industry.
It is used to flavor Earl Gray tea. The name comes from the city of Bergamo in Lombardy, Italy, where the oil was first sold.
Bergamot oil can be used to treat depression, stress, tension, fear, hysteria, infections (all types including skin), anorexia, psoriasis, eczema and general recovery.
Cold pumps: Mix with carrier oil and apply to the cold pumps with a cotton swab every few hours.
Oily, mottled skin: Mix in carrier oil (wheat germ oil is good) and massage into the affected area. You can also steam your face with bergamot mixed with boiling water. Psoriasis: Mix with carrier oil (evening primrose oil is useful for psoriasis) and massage into the affected area or add to bath water.
Use: put 2-4 drops in water in an aroma lamp or on an aroma stone, napkin, cone, wood or unburnt clay so that the aroma can spread in the room. Add 3-5 drops of vegetable oil or sweet cream to the bath. In rooms where there are small children and infants, take 1/2 smaller doses and observe the child's reaction.
