Krišnaa is one of the central deities in Hinduism and is traditionally considered to be the author of the Indian poem Bhagavatgītā. Krišnaa is the shepherd and protector of cows, the sacred animals of India.
The scriptures say that Mother Earth was once alarmed that people began to sink into sin. She decided to seek help from God Vishnu. Vishnu agreed to help the earth and promised to come to earth as a human being, Krišnaa.
