Oregano is rich in essential oils and has antibacterial properties. Oregano's antibacterial activity is even stronger than some of the good chemical drugs used to treat bacterial infections.
Because of its antiseptic properties, oregano tea is used to treat various inflammatory diseases: it can be used as a mouthwash for gingivitis. Used for various respiratory tract infections, especially in the case of cough, as it promotes coughing.
To prepare the infusion: 2 tablespoons chopped oregano (about 10 g), pour 200 ml hot water and bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Then cool.
As a herb used in a wide variety of meat and fish dishes, salads, but especially known as pizza spice.
