DESCRIPTION
Goddess Saraswati with sitar.
Resin figure of Saraswati, goddess of music, poetry, rhetoric and sciences. She is usually depicted with a stringed instrument in her hands, often a sitar. The vibrations of the entire creation arise in the sitar, which spread like waves around the goddess. Since Sanskrit is also composed of these vibrations, she carries a palm-leaf manuscript as a representation of the Vedas, one of the oldest texts ever written.
