DESCRIPTION
Seeds of basil.
Basil seeds have a relatively neutral, mild taste, but when roasted, you can feel the aroma and taste of nuts. They are able to absorb liquid, increasing about 5-7 times (just like tapioca). Swollen ones become light gray, covered with gel. Similar to chia seeds.
To eat fresh, they can be soaked, sprinkled on buns, cookies, and added to vegetable dishes.
Basil seeds tend to have different names, because in each country this spice is called differently: tukhmaria, takmaria, subja seeds, selasih, etc.
